Here are the class descriptions for the various wellness classes that we have at Synergistix Health and Wellness.
Based on the teachings of Patanjali, who put yoga together as a system to create health and well-being in every individual. The class is focused on concentration and awareness through the poses to achieve a healthy mind and body.
Foam Roll & Stretch
Create increased mobility, flexibility, and decrease pain through the use of foam rolling and various stretch techniques.
Hatha yoga will help you develop balance, strength and flexibility without feeling overwhelmed or confused. In this class we will take our time to get into postures focusing on the basics. Yoga postures and breathing exercises are combined to strengthen the body, reduce stress and calm the mind. No yoga experience is required.
This class is based on Hatha Yoga with an emphasis on the health of the mind. The class will have a focus more on the mental state and being utilizing the poses (asanas) to create an environment where the body will be more willing to release tensions and work towards a healthier body and mind.
Kid’s Yoga (Ages 5-11)
A 45 minute class that encompasses yoga in play and a game oriented environment. Poses (asanas) will be taught using familiar terminology through nature based comparison (animals, plants, etc). Children will be taught proper breathing, posture, quiet time (meditation), principles of yoga philosophy while improving their mind, body and spirit.
Pilates for Rehab
Gain strength and improved function through Pilates-based exercises focusing on the core and strengthening from the inside out. Concentration on deep supportive muscles will become the focus as we move into more functional exercises.
Qi Gong (pronounced chee-gong) is an ancient Chinese exercise and healing technique that involves meditation, controlled breathing and movement exercises. This particular class will focus on 18 forms in a half hour format.
Qi Gong for Kids (Ages 5-11)
Children will be taught to find calmness through breath, focus and awareness through movement in an interactive and fun environment.
TRX is a form of suspension training that uses bodyweight exercises to develop strength, balance, flexibility, and core stability simultaneously. It requires the use of the TRX Suspension Trainer, a performance training tool that leverages gravity and the user’s body weight to complete the exercises.
Vinyasa is a style of yoga where poses are strung together to form one fluid sequence of movement. Often called flow yoga, Vinyasa Flow is a style of yoga with focus on transitions and movements, with less time spent in stationary poses.
Yin Yoga is a gentle and relaxing all-level class that works deeply into the connective tissues and joints of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine and is suitable to all levels of students through extended holds of postures.
