We are now proud to offer Thermography at our clinic.

Thermography is a test that uses an infrared camera to detect heat patterns and blood flow in body tissues. Digital infrared thermal imaging (DITI) is the type of thermography that’s used to diagnose breast cancer. DITI reveals temperature differences on the surface of the breasts to diagnose breast cancer.

What Breast thermography measures is the infrared radiation (heat) which is constantly radiating (emitting) away from the surface of the human skin. Skin is our largest organ that breathes, exchanges gases in our environment, cools us down as well as keeps us warm by letting heat out or keeping it in.  Our skin also controls the amount of circulation or blood flow. This automatic regulation is done without conscious thought and is controlled by the nervous system via the sympathetic nervous system. The whole process is called thermoregulation.

Thermography is a preventative tool in the fight against benign and abnormal breast diseases. It is able to evaluate the formation of blood vessels that may support abnormal breast tissue growth, long before tumors develop. Thermography breast scanning will increase your chances for higher accuracy of assessing early breast problems.
